Meihodo Engineering and Buildnergy Malaysia Forge Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Energy Innovation in Japan

Meihodo Engineering has officially entered into a strategic partnership with renowned Malaysian energy company Buildnergy Sdn Bhd, aiming to advance power grid stabilization and cutting-edge energy storage solutions across Japan. While the collaboration initially focuses on the Kyushu region, both parties plan to expand their efforts nationwide, supporting the development of a more efficient, green, and sustainable energy infrastructure.

The core scope of this partnership includes the development, investment, construction, and operation & maintenance of energy storage projects—encompassing the full lifecycle from planning to execution and long-term support.

The first joint project is scheduled to become fully operational by October 2025, marking a strong start to the partnership. Notably, a second project has already been signed and successfully initiated, demonstrating the strong alignment and execution capabilities of both companies.

Construction Begins on Grid-Scale Battery Storage Facility in Bizen City

On June 17, 2025, construction officially began on a grid-scale battery storage facility in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture. The project is being delivered under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

The facility will deploy HUAWEI’s “LUNA2000-2.0MWH-2H1” battery storage system, offering an AC output of 2 MW and a DC storage capacity of 8 MWh.

Completion and full operation are scheduled for October 2025.

Itoshima Yubi BESS Project Breaks Ground

On December 16, 2024, construction officially commenced on a grid-scale battery storage facility in the Aburahi area of Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The project is being carried out under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) framework, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

 

This facility utilizes HUAWEI’s “LUNA2000-2.0MWH-2H1” grid-scale battery storage system, featuring an AC output of 2 MW and a DC capacity of 8 MWh.

The project is funded by Meihodo Energy Co., Ltd., and is expected to make a significant contribution to the stable supply of energy in the region and the achievement of decarbonization goals.
